“Hinduism”, the only religion in the whole world that gives a
notion of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbukam” meaning "the world is one family".
Hinduism includes all living and non living beings in to one fold by
establishing its basic theory and practice called sanathan dharma.
Let us observe how this can be seen in Hinduism. If one come
across the gods and goddesses and the culture of worship in Hinduism, one may
notice so much diversity in its form and prosperous.
Lord Ganesha/Vigneshwara (The lord of Obstacles) is killed
accidentally by Parameshwara (Shiva – The Destroyer or Merger) and the severed
head is replaced by the Head of an Elephant. Shiva restoring life to Ganesha1,
and replacing his head with an elephant’s, means that before we can leave the body,
the Lord first replaces our small ego with a “big”, or universal ego. This
doesn’t mean that we become more egoistic. On the contrary, we no longer
identify with the limited individual self, but rather with the large universal self.
In this way, our life is renewed, becoming one that can truly benefit Creation.
It is however only a functional ego, like the one Krishna and Buddha kept. It
is like a thin string tying the liberated Consciousness to our world, solely
for our benefit.
If one observes the significant incarnations of
Srimannarayana (The god of existence) called dasavatara, one can see the sequential
incarnations Matsya (Fish – Water abode), Koorma (Turtle – Amphibian), Varaaha
(Wild Boar head with human body – Living in Wilds), Nrisimha (Lion head with
human body – Living in Forests), Vamana (A dwarf man). Parashurama (Warrior
with axe), Rama (The purest human form with ideal man), Krishna (The god of
compassion, tenderness, and love), Buddha (Who preached the path of ahimsa (non-violence)),
Kalki (“Destroyer of Filth" and the harbinger of end time) gives a concept
of evolution.
The first test tube baby who is born from the rudra veerya
(Semen of Shiva) is Hanuman (The monkey god), whose embryo is installed by the Vaayu (God of Air) in the
womb of Anjana Devi (Wife of Monkey King “Kesari”). Lord Hanuman symbolically
stands for pure devotion, complete surrender and absence of ego or the lower
self2.
